Elanie Bieldt
I have always seen the world and people around me in funny pictures -
Let me show you.

Who..?
Hi, my name is Elanie and I am a versatile illustrator and graphic designer with a keen eye for humour. I strive to create dynamic, authentic work to bring your ideas to life.
With an extensive background in children's book illustration, I am well-versed in designing for print, as well as digital mediums, and have worked with a broad range of clients, including large publishers like Lapa Uitgewers (a division of Penguin Random House South Africa), and numerous self-publishing authors.
I offer a flexible style that adapts to each brief's individual needs.
Originally from South Africa, I am now based in London.
What..?
I value authenticity and representation, creating a world where people, especially children, feel seen and accepted.
When illustrating children's books, I believe it is important cater for children of all backgrounds through characters that are relatable, funny, and uplifting.
My characters are almost aways a bit a bit squishy, a bit lanky, a bit disheveled, and unapologetically so.

The characters in her illustrations are almost aways a bit exaggerated; a bit squishy, a bit lanky, a bit disheveled, and unapologetically so.
On top of my illustration work, I enjoy creating hand-lettered typography, and designing layouts that are engaging and full of energy.
Being a fine artist first and foremost, I have worked extensively with traditional mediums such as acrylic painting, pastels, charcoal, graphite, etc.
In university I also experimented with silk screen printing and RISO printing.
This influence gives my work an organic feeling.
